America’s Next Top Model Talk

I have really become addicted to this show over the last couple of years and each day it comes closer, I get more excited.  Today it appears there will be another guest appearing on the show and there will also be a sleepover of some kind.

Judging from last weeks promo for this week, it almost looks like we will have our models trying to impress some drag queens of some sort.  There appears to be issues with Tahlia, again, and I hope that “foreshadowing” won’t play any part in this week’s outcome.

Does anyone know what it’s all about this week?

Looks like we just lost another “pretty” girl to the chopping blog on ANTM.  Tonight the judges finally cut loose the only one that wasn’t able to barely smile for the camera.  Nijah Harris is very good looking and should be glad that ANTM opens doors for anyone on the show.

She has a shot at modeling, but she is going to need some training.  After a very stiff runway walk and an even worse photo shoot, she was booted and it only made sense.  The issue I had was that her and Allison were the bottom 2, and she is right behind Nijah.  If Allison makes it another week, the judges would really have to see something that really isn’t there.

There are a lot of potential top models left, but we have at least 3 shows of no surprise eliminations before the nitty gritty starts.  Stay tuned for next weeks post and another about how the judges are taking hard lines at the models.

Since watching Hanna’s (~3:00) painful runway walk, and of course Sam’s dress mishap (~2:00), last season, the runway episode has become one of my favs.  It is actually quite amusing to watch good looking woman that want to model, actually show they won’t be able to make it.  The bad ones actually make it easy on the judges.

If you do not know how to be in front of a camera, in a fashion show, getting a makeover or on the runway, you have NO chance.  The judges have to separate the best from the good, the bad ones just fall through the cracks as the show goes on.

You are going to see 2 previous top models on the show to help give advise to the contestants.  I am not sure who they will be, but I am sure it is NOT Hanna or Sam :) Miss Jay is one of the best runway coaches in all the world and he is teaching you all the ins and outs.  Some of the models like to do their own thing, but I always think “why can’t you just listen to him?”.  I think that if you are going to have too much of an “I got this” attitude, you will not be around in the competition long.

Stay tuned for my 2 cents after this weeks show.

After watching “painful” (yet entertaining) makeovers this week, it wasn’t really obvious that Jessica was the one that should be voted off.  Although she is a young hottie, she just couldn’t cut it when it came to “easy” photo sessions typical this early in the show.

Even though she states she is the prettiest girl on the show, that wasn’t the issue.  Her “corpse” like poses just weren’t doing it for anyone, including Nigel.  After the judges ripped her to pieces, they set her in the bottom 2 with Fo, then sent Jessica home for good!

A recent news story about some chaos at the newest casting call for America’s Next Top Model.  The casting call was held in New York and somehow erupted into “bedlam on the streets”, leaving the streets cluttered with shoes and clothing.  No further information was reported other than a couple hospital visits and disorderly conduct citations.

I have noticed that more and more girls with “attitudes” are trying to make the show.  My guess is that someone was just a bit hotter than another and that was grounds for an ass kickin’.

This week was the makeover show on America’s Next Top Model and I must say that I was surprised, annoyed and glad at the makeovers.  London’s hair after the makeover was just insane compared to her skin tone, but at least she looked better than Celia with short hair.

They also had to do a challenge where the girls teamed up to show someone off the street how to apply Covergirl makeup that is sold at Walmart.  It was a bust of a challenge, but basically they were graded on how well the teams were showing the “client” the products and teaching them as they went.  It was sad to see it and none of them really “stood out”, but they had to pick a winner, right?  Hopefully future challenges are more “challenging”.

Celia was not my pick to begin with and I really didn’t see what “bone structure” Tyra sees as being model like, but with short hair, it didn’t do her any justice.  I will say though, she handled it much better than Fo did when the salon chopped all of her hair off.

After all the crying and moping through the photo shoot, Fo, after being in the bottom 2, realized she must learn to embrace what Tyra thinks is all that!  I guess we’ll see what happens next week during the runway episode.

Miss J really gets me laughing and when it comes time to shine via the runway, he is all that and more.  It should be a good episode.  Oh yeah, plus Sandra and what’s her face are still enemies and both on the show.  Makes for good times!
